INTEREST POLICY
Interest policy is largely about creating better conditions for sports clubs in the municipality. Sundbyberg is a sports-friendly community with a positive dialogue between sports and local politics. That said, there is still room for improvement, so Sundbybergs Idrottsallians advocates for current issues that sports clubs have identified as priorities and necessities.
Priority issues:
Increase the investment budget for new facilities and upgrades to existing ones
Higher grants
Strengthen cooperation between the municipality and the clubs
Maintain or expand the zero-fee policy
Enable more and more affordable club facilities
In spring 2026, Sundbybergs Idrottsallians met with all eight political parties to discuss these priority issues and increase understanding of the sports community's needs in the municipality.
In April, Sundbybergs Idrottsallians hosted a political debate evening at the Culture Center in Hallonbergen, with representatives from all eight parties. Each had the chance to present and expand on how their party plans to support local sports clubs in Sundbyberg.
In August, the parties will have a final opportunity to take a stance on sports-specific issues through an election guide, which will be summarized and published in Sundbybergs Idrottsallians' communications calendar. The guide highlights more specific topics such as facility needs/partnerships, grants, fees, and more.
Ahead of the election on September 13, 2026, Sundbybergs Idrottsallians will meet with the parties again to emphasize the priority issues for sports and discuss how these fit within their election programs.
